In this paper, kinetic viscosities of the phosphoric acid + tributyl phosphate + methyl isobutyl ketone, and + aviation kerosene systems with the content of P(2)O(5) in the range of (0 to 17) % and temperature from (10 to 50) T were presented. After data processing, kinetic viscosities were found well-correlated with temperature and concentration of P(2)O(5), which can be demonstrated by linear regression equations. According to those equations, kinetic viscosities of the phosphoric acid + tributyl phosphate + methyl isobutyl ketone were compared with those of phosphoric acid + tributyl phosphate + aviation kerosene systems. The results showed that the dilution effect of methyl isobutyl ketone was better than that of aviation kerosene under the same temperature and concentration of P(2)O(5). In addition, the concentration Of P(2)O(5) in the tributyl phosphate + methyl isobutyl ketone system can be higher than that in the tributyl phosphate + aviation kerosene system without any three-phase situation. So, there are many advantages for purifying wet-process phosphoric acid by solvent extraction with tributyl phosphate + methyl isobutyl ketone.
