Multi-channel transient electromagnetic (M-TEM) system, which is a time-domain control source electromagnetic (CSEM) system, is mainly used in hydrocarbon exploration. In this paper, we experimentally applied the method to the investigation of mineral resources. Firstly, we introduced the basic principles and imaging technique of a typical M-TEM survey. Then, we presented a field example which was conducted over a molybdenum mine with the newly developed instruments. The high power transmitter and the pseudo random binary sequences (PRBS) are employed in the field work. The result of the field test validates the feasibility of the M-TEM system in identify orebody. (C) 2018 Published by Elsevier B.V.
