A review of studies made in 1991-2010 using chemometric methods and aimed at solving basic chemical analytical problems is presented. Russian experts actively using chemometric methods are not numerous, but the attention of the analytical community to these methods rapidly grows. The review covers the scientific achievements in the development of identification (classification) algorithms, their application to qualitative analysis, and the use of multivariate calibrations in quantitative analysis.
