The zinc titanate composite nanofibers were prepared using electrospinning method combining sol-gel process followed by calcining the precursor PVP/Zn(CH(3)COO)(2)-Ti(OC(4)H(9))(4) fibers under air in the temperature range of 400-700 degrees C. The nanofibers were characterized by thermal field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermal gravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA). FE-SEM micrographs indicated that the surfaces of the nanofibers; are uniform and smooth and the diameter of the fiber decreasing as the calcination temperature increasing. It is also found that ZnO-TiO(2) ceramic fibers including ZnTiO(3), Zn(2)TiO(4) and rutile phase were synthesized by calcining the precursor PVP/Zn(CH(3)COO)(2)-Ti(OC(4)H(9))(4) composite fibers at 700 degrees C.
