Long lasting phosphorescence Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ nanotube arrays have been fabricated by an anodic alumina oxide (AAO) assisted co-deposition method, which making use of the co-deposition reaction between two solutions in the channel of the AAO template. The growth mechanism of the nanotube arrays is considered as diffusion controlled in solution. The photoluminescence and afterglow properties of the nanoarrays have been investigated and discussed.
