The Li4Ti5O12/Cu composite was synthesized by an electroless deposition of Cu particles. The content of Cu in the composite was determined as 1% by the energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) technique. The conductivity of the Li4Ti5O12/Cu composite was almost two orders of magnitude higher than the pristine Li4Ti5O12. Furthermore, the high rate discharge capacity and cycling stability of the pristine Li4Ti5O12 was significantly improved by the Cu additive. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
