The appearance of an electric field component normal to the transport current has been revealed in NbSe3 single crystals in the region of phase transitions to the Peierls state. It has been shown that the arising transverse voltage is V (xy) ae dR (xx) /dT. This effect is explained by the redistribution of the current caused by the spatial inhomogeneity of the critical temperature of the Peierls transition.
