The photoexcitation and decay of photoconduction with UV irradiation have been studied in titanium oxide films prepared by the rf magnetron sputtering. Dynamic responses of photocurrent are represented by a stretched exponential function, and a long-term photocurrent decay suggests that the photoexcited carriers recombine under potential fluctuations (band-edge modulations of the conduction and valence bands). Important physical parameters related to the band-edge profiles are given by our proposed model. (C) 2010 The Japan Society of Applied Physics
