We demonstrated the ultra-broadband detection of terahertz electric field in the frequency range from 0.1 to 100 THz with a photoconductive antenna and an ultrashort pulsed laser with a pulse duration of approximately 10fs. Ultra-broadband THz pulses were generated with a thin GaSe crystal or a photoconductive antenna emitter. The spectral sensitivity of the photoconductive antenna detection was examined in the mid-infrared region. We also demonstrated and efficient acquisition method based on the fast scanning of an optical delay line. [DOI: 10.1143/JJAP.47.8221]
