The goal of the research reported in this article is to investigate the use of porous cement-stabilised granular materials as base layers of permeable pavements. Results of experimental and theoretical studies on the physical characteristics of these materials are presented. Two different grain sizes were tested to study the impact of these parameters on the mechanical and hydraulic properties of porous cement-stabilised materials. Furthermore, measurement results of void ratios, permeabilities, compressive and tensile strength, elasticity and fatigue (cracking) characteristics are presented in this article. The article also contains equations and discusses approaches that may be used for estimating permeability from grain-size distributions.
