Donor-acceptor cyclopropanes are sources of 1,3-dipoles. Owing to this, they readily enter into cycloaddition and annulation with various substrates and thus play an important role in contemporary organic chemistry. In the absence of substrates, donor-acceptor cyclopropanes can undergo climerization reactions in quite various ways which are summarized in this review.
