Five new species of mites are described from Australia, in the subgenera Hypoaspis (Gaeolaelaps) and Hypoaspis (Cosmolaelaps) (Laelapidae). These mites were found in association with large burrowing cockroaches (Blaberidae). A key to the species of Laelapidae associated with cockroaches in Australia is provided.
