A polyoxometalate-based lanthanide-organic framework was achieved using the {[Ho-4(dpdo)(8)(H2O)(16)BW12O40] (H2O)(2)}(7+) nanocage as a secondary building block for the heterogeneous catalysis of phosphodiester cleavage in an aqueous solution.
