The authors investigate the problem of robust H-infinity stabilisation for a class of networked control systems (NCSs) with both network-induced delay and packet dropout. In order to obtain a less conservative and robust H-infinity stability criterion, the authors establish an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and propose a relevant free-weighting matrix method endowed with extra degrees of freedom through the introduction of novel relaxation variables associated with integral Omega x (T)(alpha)(center dot) x (alpha) d alpha. Subsequently, on the basis of the obtained stability criterion, the authors derive the H-infinity stabilisation condition for NCSs with norm-bounded parameter uncertainty. Furthermore, the authors provide four numerical examples to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
