Nanostructured Cerium and antimony co-doped tin dioxide (Ce/ATO) were prepared by sol-gel method. XRD, SEM, XPS, Uv-vis and fluorescence were employed to characterize the structure, morphology and optical properties. The results show that the Ce/ATO samples exhibit photocatalytic abilities for hydrogen production in a lactic acid solution. 4 mol% Ce/ATO showed the highest rate of hydrogen production (8.5 mu mol g(-1) h(-1)) among the doped samples under light irradiation.
