Loads are indirectly connected to the HV buses of substations through the HV network of a distribution network. However, existing composite load models used in measurement-based load modeling studies are not able to reflect these load situations. This letter proposes an extended composite load model that is suitable for measurement-based load modeling. The proposed load model consists of the equivalent model of an HV network and a traditional composite load model, having an upgraded performance in wider ranges of voltage.
