This paper presents the results of modeled investigations of a developed flow diagram for a small scale (3-4 MW) combined cycle power plant with integrated plasma coal gasification. This includes a highly efficient heat recovery module, a multistaged plasma gasifier, and a gas turbine engine. Total efficiency of the coal conversion into electric power using direct-flow gasification and plasma process initiation could be in the range of 25%-36%, and is primarily dependent on gas turbine performance and the gasification method selected.
