Two new chlorinated dibenzo-alpha-pyrones, palmariols A (1) and B (2), together with alternariol 9-methyl ether (3), were isolated from the mycelial extract of discomycete Lachnum palmae (NRBC-106495), and the structures of 1 and 2 were elucidated using spectroscopic data. Palmariols A (1) and B (2) are rare dizenzo-alpha-pyrones containing a chlorine. Compounds 1 similar to 3 exhibited weak antimicrobial activity against Mucor racemosus and Bacillus subtilis.
