Poster summary
- Temples are an integral part of many historic towns in India and depict the makers' taste for art and architecture. Bishnupur is a temple town in the Bankura district of West Bengal, renowned for its unique terracotta temple architecture, artisan community, and embankment and nominated in the tentative list of UNESCO world heritage sites. The research aims at developing an understanding of the knowledge systems in the context of the morphology of Bishnupur. They are learning units and when incorporated into the mainstream development process becomes a step toward a sustainable future.
