Poster summary

The study explores using a synthesized copolymer (AE) and its nanohybrid (NH) to improve diesel fuel's cold flow properties. AE was synthesized through free radical solution polymerization, while NH was made via emulsion polymerization with 1% nano-SiO2. Structural analysis was done using various techniques. Adding NH significantly enhanced the diesel's cold flow characteristics, reducing the pour point temperature from -3°C to -36°C with 10,000 ppm NH. Viscosity and yield stress were also reduced, and the viscosity index increased, with microscopy revealing better wax crystal separation, indicating improved low-temperature performance and overall flow properties.
