First submission in January, 17 days, three reviewers, two agreed, but one reviewer consistently believed that his/her viewpoint was correct and our work was not good enough. In order to prove ourselves, we specifically cited many peer-reviewed articles with similar practices, but the person still believed that those articles were incorrect. As a result, we received two major revisions and ultimately got rejected, but the editor encouraged us to resubmit.

Originally, we didn't want to submit again, but the correspondent suggested making some changes and submitting to a special issue. We submitted to the special issue on February 28th. It went under review on March 1st. On April 7th, we received minor revision comments. It's a bit slow, but all four reviewers seem positive, and the editor is friendly in communication. Hopefully, they will accept my article in a couple of days. It's really not easy for an undergraduate to publish a paper. Regardless of the outcome, I am grateful to my mentor. Without him, I wouldn't have had this opportunity.
