This is actually a magazine of very average quality, very average, very average. Those who understand, understand. Someone is trying to compare it to NAR, saying that they are similar. This is simply ridiculous. MBE relies on boosting the citation count and riding on hot topics, while NAR's research papers are of very high quality. They are completely different extremes. Before you come here to criticize, please first properly evaluate the quality of the articles. If NAR didn't publish data-driven articles, its citation count might drop to below 10. However, NAR does not manipulate reviews or engage in clickbait. Even if it only scores six or seven, it is still a top-tier magazine!

Don't touch NAR. The research paper quality of NAR surpasses MBE, NC, and several others by a long shot.

MBE now seems to be a shallow journal! It relies on database manipulation to boost its impact factor, resulting in generally low citation rates per article! It is similar to nucleic acid research in this aspect!
