The reviewers generally provide two major revisions and one rejection. If there is a major revision, should it be revised or resubmitted after rejection? Does anyone know?

崔宗宇 2023-06-28

Just asking, how long does it take for everyone to contact you to pay the layout fee after receiving the acceptance email? I have sent the final manuscript to the publisher for half a month, but they haven't contacted me about the layout fee.

Spig1919 2023-06-27

I am almost the same. I submitted the manuscript at the end of February, received revisions in May, and accepted it last week.
Most of the time was spent with the editor, RRC, DIP... The actual time under review added up to only one month...

Damn, you're too fast. I still have a long way to go. CS.

3.8 Submission
5.16 First round revision comments (no doubts about the article's innovation, just minor issues with details)
6.12 Second round revision comments (suggestion to add a comparative experiment)
6.26 Acceptance
The process was very fast! It was a great submission experience! The journal's quality is also highly recognized in China!

Identification number TIM-23-02803. Rejected after submission. This manuscript of mine is an extended version of a conference paper.

Rejection letter: Thank you very much for submitting your manuscript, ... I have screened your paper, and I have determined that we will not be able to send this manuscript to TIM reviewers.
The paper is an extended version of an accepted conference paper. However, the conference paper is not yet presented/published... such submission can be done only after the conference closes.

Actually, it is not recommended to rush the submission. The timeline is not very long, but if it is urgent, you can send an email first. Usually, customer service will reply within two days. If they are unable to resolve your issue, it would be better to directly contact the editor's email.

Hello, I saw your message on letpub. My situation is very similar to yours. It took me two weeks to receive the "with editor" status after submission, and then I stayed in the "with editor" status for another two weeks. I plan to contact the editor to inquire about the progress. I'm not sure if you used the "send email" function in the submission system or directly emailed the editor using your personal education email. If you could take some time to share your personal experience, I would greatly appreciate it.

ghbj 2023-06-25

Brother, what is your manuscript number?

学术蜗牛 2023-06-24

Now there is a large volume of manuscripts, so it is difficult to be accepted within three to four months. It feels like it will take at least five months to get started.

scott_myt 2023-06-19

Before, two articles were accepted, with the initial review taking one month and the final acceptance taking three months. After graduating with a Ph.D., I changed institutions and submitted a similar type of article. The initial review took almost half a year, but there were no objections. The editor mentioned that it was difficult to find reviewers and expressed a desire to obtain results quickly, without any internal bias.

ssmountain 2023-06-18

1 major revision and 1 minor revision took a total of six months. The reviewers were very professional, and the status was recorded throughout the process for reference.

Before, my junior also encountered the same situation. The editor still wants to accept it, but the questions given by the experts may be sharper. Have a good conversation with the experts, the process may be more complicated, but I wish you success.

der_kokon 2023-06-15

The journal has a good level, with high requirements for innovation and a relatively high degree of recognition among peers.

The text "Jun 7 2023 Accept" is already in English and does not need to be translated. It appears to be a date followed by the word "Accept."

Hello. I submitted an extended version of a conference paper. Although the conference paper was accepted, currently it is only in the form of an extended abstract. The full paper version needs to be submitted by the end of June, and the conference will be held in September this year. The "INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS" states: "It is the responsibility of the author(s) to obtain permission to re-use and re-print materials from the proceedings paper, and this permission must be obtained ahead of time from its publisher. As per IEEE rules, if the proceedings paper was copyrighted by the IEEE, this permission is not required." The conference I submitted to is not organized by IEEE, so I sent an email to the conference organizers to inquire about the copyright, but haven't received a reply. It has been 6 days since I submitted on 5/22 and the status hasn't changed. Is there a problem with this situation?

随YY 2023-06-12

Agree, the amount of manuscript reviews in TIM is huge now. When it comes to selecting expert reviewers, editors find it difficult to find those who are particularly specialized, which inevitably leads to improper review outcomes.

I feel that your second review speed is really fast. It has been over a month since I submitted my revisions, but I still haven't received any results.

zhengzkang 2023-06-05

2.18 submitted, reminded once after 20 days
3.5 revised the overly long agreement
3.10 under review
4.07 date changed once, one reviewer was not thorough, added another reviewer, reminded on the 25th
4.31 several hours after rrc, major revision, 3 reviewers, 2 agreed, 1 provided 8 comments, significant opinions
5.5 revised and wrote a 22-page response
5.7 with editor
5.10 under review
5.31 no rrc mentioned
6.1 accepted
Overall review process was satisfactory, reviewers' comments were alright, no experiments were conducted, first time submitting to IEEE Trans went smoothly, mainly depends on the quality of the paper itself, Tim was good.

ZZzzzz... 2023-06-05

This thing has been reviewed and evaluated by editors and reviewers, with a certain element of luck involved.

kyra1112 2023-06-05

A journal with extremely slow review process. After the initial submission, it took one month to be assigned to an editor. The first review took two months, and the result was a rejection with a suggestion for resubmission. After making the revisions according to the reviewer's suggestions, it took three months to receive a response. The reviewer then stated that the main issue with the article was insufficient sample size and recommended against acceptance. After going back and forth for a total of seven months, the result was still a rejection. If the sample size was the main problem, it should have been mentioned in the first review. There was no need to waste both parties' time. The reviewer appears unprofessional and did not carefully read the content of the paper. It feels like they were rushing to meet the deadline and simply provided a random reason for the response. Be cautious when submitting to this journal!!!!

6.04 requires a significant revision.

风之小翼 2023-06-03

The following updates have been made:

5.10 submitted
5.15 with editor
5.19 under review (time unchanged until completion)
5.31 dip (10 minutes ago it was still under review, didn't see the rrc status)
6.2 accept

Although the process was challenging, I was fortunate enough to be accepted. Many thanks to the editor and reviewers for giving me this opportunity. I hope the journal can return to the first tier.

特邀审稿人 2023-05-27

Not necessarily, after submitting it, there were suggestions from reviewers to reject it, but the editor-in-chief ultimately accepted it. This journal is not so strict.

zhengzkang 2023-05-26

Anyway, this one is now a major, one is a reject.
