Aims and Scope

The journal Mineralium Deposita introduces new observations, principles, and interpretations from the field of economic geology, including nonmetallic mineral deposits, experimental and applied geochemistry, with emphasis on mineral deposits. It offers short and comprehensive articles, review papers, brief original papers, scientific discussions and news, as well as reports on meetings of importance to mineral research. The emphasis is on high-quality content and form for all articles and on international coverage of subject matter.

The first review lasted for twelve months and was rejected. There were two reviewers, one recommended major revisions while the other rejected it. Despite the declining popularity in the field of economic geology, the journal OGR, which is one of the top three journals in mineral deposits, is gradually moving away from open access (OA). However, MD still has certain requirements for innovation. I hope we can stand strong together with EG.

I submitted an article at the beginning of this year, but it was rejected in just 10 days. Today, I submitted another article and I hope at the very least it will be assigned for review. The process is indeed slow, but each article is different! Last year, it took my junior colleague 5 months from submission to acceptance. This year, my advisor had one of his articles accepted after 6 months!
