The flagship journal of the American Electrochemical Society, which is considered one of the few outstanding purely electrochemical journals. Many classic papers have been published in it, both in terms of knowledge dissemination and the rigor of the article's argumentation process, making it an authority in the field of electrochemistry! Unfortunately, its reputation and influence cannot surpass what the Chinese Academy of Sciences calls the "impact factor." Not long ago, I submitted a valuable part of my work to JES, not for the sake of its ranking, but today, after seeing the latest ranking, I couldn't hold back anymore. Not maintaining the original ranking would have been understandable, but I was forcibly placed in the fourth tier. On the contrary, some domestically produced journals that have just obtained an impact factor have entered the first and second tiers. Both in terms of emotions and logic, I feel that the Chinese Academy of Sciences has gone too far! It is a good journal, but unfortunately, it still has to bow down to the influence factor. This may be the last time I submit to JES, sigh.

It can indeed be considered as a flagship journal in the field of electrochemistry. I have submitted an article to this journal before and received very professional review comments. The reviewers provided me with a lot of knowledge on the underlying mechanisms and formulas. I haven't submitted to this journal recently due to its classification reasons (forgive me for being somewhat superficial, but I can't help it with the way the Chinese Academy of Sciences operates). I still psychologically recognize the significance of this journal and hope that it will regain its classification in the future. I want to mention that even EC has been classified as a third-tier journal now. I really can't understand the principles behind the Chinese Academy of Sciences' classification and its reasoning. Reputation and influence cannot simply be quantified based on Impact Factor alone...
