Verified Reviews
Note: Verified reviews are sourced from across review platforms and social media globally.
After submission, it takes one week for review. Three months later, the comments from the first review are returned. The major revisions are suggested by two reviewers. Actually, the reviewers' comments are quite acceptable, but the editor-in-chief added many very tricky suggestions. It took a lot of effort to modify the editor-in-chief's suggestions, but even after making the changes, the editor-in-chief was still not satisfied and added some very tricky suggestions again. After honestly making the modifications according to the editor-in-chief's suggestions, the editor-in-chief was satisfied and accepted it directly. The editor-in-chief's strict review process clearly greatly improves the quality of articles published in CMP.

CMP is considered a classic journal in the field of solid rock and mineralogy, and it is highly recognized in the industry, second only to the top journal of petrology in rock science. The editors and reviewers of CMP are all renowned experts or emerging talents in the field, and their opinions are highly regarded. The only drawback is that articles in CMP mainly focus on fundamental rock and mineralogy research, lacking novelty, and it is almost impossible to be selected for NI journals. Therefore, in the current research evaluation system in China (which emphasizes NI articles), traditional solid earth science research is at a disadvantage, which is truly regrettable...
