Aims and Scope

Online-only and open access, npj Climate and Atmospheric Science is dedicated to publishing high-quality papers on topics such as climate dynamics, climate variability, weather and climate prediction, climate change, weather extremes, air pollution, atmospheric chemistry including aerosols, the hydrological cycle and atmosphere–ocean and atmosphere–land interactions. A particular area of focus for the journal is studies of regional systems.

The author's status is rarely shown, and the journal is very slow. It takes two months for the first review, so we have to wait patiently. Requesting for updates may result in direct rejection. The journal follows a high-quality route, only accepting around a hundred articles each year. Most articles are rejected during the pre-check stage, so those that make it to the peer review stage are considered lucky.
