USAID via the Bureau for Resilience and Food Security (RFS) also leads the United States Government’s Feed the Future efforts. Feed the Future is the United States Government’s global hunger and food security initiative. USAID supports research and capacity development programs in Feed the Future countries and supports country-driven approaches to address the root causes of hunger and poverty and forge long-term solutions to chronic food insecurity and undernutrition.
POL has primary responsibility for the RFS agenda of strengthening policy systems in Feed the Future countries in order to accelerate inclusive agricultural growth and structural transformation that catalyzes and contributes to Global Food Security Strategy (GFSS), Global Food Security Reauthorization (GFSR), RFS, and Agency goals, including poverty reduction, improved food security, better nutritional outcomes, strengthened resilience, and increased water security.
The purpose of this unfunded umbrella APS is to provide a structure for Operating Units and Missions to issue Addenda to further these goals. This APS does not serve as a general solicitation for policy analysis and capacity concept papers. Interested Applicants must respond to specific addenda that may be issued throughout the year by OUs related to their specific priorities, objectives, and programs.
