Applications must satisfy all the requirements set out in the Medical Research Future Fund – 2024 Enhancing Medical Device Surveillance Through Registries Grant Opportunity Guidelines.

Description

The objective of this grant opportunity is to provide grants of financial assistance to support medical research and medical innovation projects that:

Stream 1 (Targeted Call for Research): establish or expand a registry to collect and promote analysis of information on medical devices and tools used to treat atrial fibrillation, including evaluation of cost-effectiveness and clinical outcomes
Stream 2 (Targeted Call for Research): expand coverage of device-specific data and improve nationwide data collection and analysis on spinal procedures using implantable devices, including evaluation of cost-effectiveness and clinical outcomes.

The intended outcome of the research funded by this grant opportunity is to improve the health and wellbeing of Australians by:

Stream 1 (Targeted Call for Research): improving health outcomes and long-term safety for atrial fibrillation patients through comprehensive medical device data collection
Stream 2 (Targeted Call for Research): improving health outcomes and long-term safety for patients with implantable spinal devices through comprehensive medical device data collection.

Applicants to this grant opportunity must propose research that addresses one of the two Streams of research.

This grant opportunity is being administered by NHMRC on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care.
